Sometimes it's more than just about laying down some colors to your art by "what looks good, or by how you feel", it's also good to know the theory behind it.
You can save a lot of time guessing and wandering about what colors to use or what colors are good, when you understand the theory of what works, you can make it work for you!
This article describe useful terms for colors such as:
Primary Colorst (not computer primaries- RGB) but Yellow, Blue, and Red
Color has Temperature
Analogous Colors
Monochromatic
Triadic or Tetradic Colors
Using colors as a focal point
I like the Author's quote, "
Color is very much like a bank account. If you dip into it too much soon you have none. It's said that some of the most beautiful paintins ever produced have restricted color palette.
Ok want to learn more: Here's the whole article. The article is not definitive of course, but it's a pretty good start. Enjoy!!
